Parental responsibility

eConstruct eLearning Course - Parental Responsibility

Understanding who holds parental responsibility for children is essential in work with families. This crucial concept underpins issues of consent, data protection, private fostering and child protection, to name but a few. However, too many practitioners assume that the people who the child is living with have ‘PR’, leading at times to dangerous misjudgements.

This free eConstruct course addresses this issue directly, taking the participants through the background of the legislation, the powers and duties parental responsibility conveys and how this works in practice. Participants get the chance to test their knowledge before and after the learning and to record their achievements within their profile.
